Everything was perfect. The hotel is simply exeptional and outstanding. We chose it originally due to the best location but the hotel itself exeeded all of our expectations. Every single detail is carefully thought. The hotel would deserve almost 5 star rating because its service, high quality breakfast (e.g., chef was preparing warm dishes, waitresses were taking care of serving drinks), afternoon buffet with amazing variety of food just to mention examples. The english-speaking staff was professional and considerate. Beautiful interior was perfectly matching the original style of the house (also excellent sustainability with materials). There were many convenient and comfy sitting areas around the hotel. The room and the whole hotel was spotless and the cleaning was extremely careful. The hotel offered bathrobe, slippers, good quality shampoo, conditioner etc as well as all possible amenities one could imagine (toothbrush etc). The bed-linen and towels were quality ones. In the room there were a kettle and a Nespresso coffee-machine as well as complimentary water upon arrival. Even though the hotel is located in a lively street and we had balcons facing streets (large windows which usually correspond to a noisy room) it was very quiet. A modern sound-proof window technique had been applied. Moreover, Air-conditioning functioned well and the room was nicely warm for the time of the year. We would say that the hotel is among the top three of our favorites globally (We have stayed in hundrends of hotels). When again in Madrid we will choose this hotel again!

The room, bathroom and bedding are all very upscale, clean and nice. The front desk staff were always nice and the maid service was always top notch. Our rooms were also VERY quiet, which was nice. We rarely heard anything or anyone else once the double doors to the room were closed. It's location is close to everything in downtown Madrid, from the Prado Museum and El Retiro park to the east and Plaza Major and the Royal Palace to the west. We walked everywhere and found everything close by. Perhaps the best part of the hotel service are the free snacks served for extended afternoon hours during each day. These snacks were numerous and varied, from small portions of meat and vegetables and even cold soup, to finger sandwiches, fruit, and salads (rice, garbanzo, and lettuce). Water and a coffee machine, which can create all types, was included. The bar was located just steps away for those who wanted to pay for alcohol, beer, or any other hot bar food such as pizza or sandwiches.

This was the best quality room and the best hotel location that we had on our trip. It was two blocks from the Plaza de Santa Ana which was a big plus but just good luck as we didn't realize that in advance. That small plaza is filled with decent cafes and restaurants and is active with music and foot traffic until past midnight even on weeknights and you only have a few steps to go back to your hotel. The hotel is also within reasonable walking distance of Plaza del Sol and Plaza Major. Walking downhill to the Prado was OK but a bit farther and downhill so we took a cab back up the hill. Also there is a subway station about 3 blocks away that can get you to most of the places we wanted to go. The hotel staff was very helpful, spoke fluent English and knew the area very well. This is one to repeat - no regrets or reason to look elsewhere.

This was by far my best hotel experience in 2023. The hotel is in an absolutely beautiful location in Sol where you can walk easily to many areas including Plaza mayor. There are many restaurants close by. The staff was amazing and they had a good hospitality. The check in process was smooth and they explained me everything I need to know about the stay in a very pleasant manner. The rooms were beautiful and classy. The breakfast was delicious and they even provided evening snacks which was a relief when I had a tiring day and got back from work. Given a choice, I would still choose Catalina Las Cortes.

Fantastic location, cannot beat staying in this neighborhood in Madrid. The hotel is one block away from a bustling plaza and a ten minute walk to the Prado. Nespresso maker and electric water kettle in the room was greatly appreciated. We stayed in a room with three beds and typical size for a European hotel but we did not feel on top of one another- this worked well for us. On top of that, the staff is friendly and went above and beyond to assist with some personal issues during our stay. Would stay here again in a heartbeat.
